Lately when eating breakfast Adam seems so much older to me. He’s transitioned from eating toast and fruit to sitting and eating a bowl of cereal by himself.
Maybe it’s that with the combination of retiring the high chair and giving Adam a booster seat to sit at the table, he just seems to be growing up so fast.
I love to sit and watch him meticulously scoop up the cereal and put it in his mouth. He is so intense while doing this, the expressions on his face always changing with the odd “mmmmmm” sneaking out.
I make sure to give him a cloth as he starts so he can wipe the milk that has dribbled down his chin or the milk that has spilled onto the table.
Somedays there is lots of conversation and other days the focus is squarely on the food. Sometimes it’s a slow process taking an hour to eat breakfast and other days Adam vacuums it in.
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Right now it’s more like the most important moment in my day.
